Welcome to the G.R.A.M.S. Web site!

The Greenwood Radio Aircraft Modelers Society is a non-profit model aircraft club formed in the early 1950’s to promote the sport and hobby of flying R/C airplane and helicopter models.
Our flying field is located at the Ashley Airfield 3 miles east of Honea Path, South Carolina on SR.252 and is centrally located at 20 Miles southeast of Anderson, 25 Miles south of Greenville and 20 Miles north of Greenwood.

We are chartered by the Academy of Model Aeronautics, under District-V 588 and participate in the AMA Introductory Pilot Program

                  The Spring Fun-Fly had a great turnout and all had fun. Thanks to everyone that came! See the Events tab for

                     Joe Nall! Wow! what a day Friday was! It started off with a bang after Bill Hempel's beautiful BD5 jet went in 
                     after it lost a wing panel, right after its first roll on the back side. Only one other incident that I saw (along with
                     a few hundred other people) was at the noon demo show center. A little too low with a prototype Edge by PAU
                     and the rudder cable apparently broke, making a very spectacular early end on that flight. I had seen this
                     fellow fly the last two days an he is incredible. Excellent flying and real dedication to the hobby was shown by
                     all .
                     For our annual breakfast, it was Cindy & me, Uwe and Bill G. At the Nall, I also saw and yapped with:
                     Bobby, Fran, James, Wayne, John, Ronny, Jared and Tom. Also, from Emerald was Tommy, Ricky and Butch.
                     Down at the helicopter section were my old friends from my helicopter days; Peter, Darryl and Joe. It was good
                     to see them again and I met a few new folks along the way.
                     It was a great event and I'm already putting plans together for next year.

                  Our next Club meeting is Sunday, June 3rd, beginning at 2:30pm EDT
